Bridges Out of Poverty

This all-day workshop will address a variety of issues of poverty in communities:

  • Develop mental models of the environments of poverty, middle class and wealth
  • Begin to understand how the differing environments can produce different hidden rules of class
  • Examine the causes of poverty
  • Understand poverty's impact on people and communities
  • Explore how the information can be used to create relationships between and among classes so that all can participate in solving problems at the community and systematic levels

We are excited to welcome Jodi Pfarr of aha! Process Jodi Pfarr of Minneapolis MN brings to her audiences the knowledge gained from direct experience with not-for-profit organizations. Pfarr is Executive Director of Emma Norton Services, providing housing to single women with low-incomes. She is formerly a certified critical debriefer for the St. Paul Police Department and is familiar with the police culture and the challenges officers face.
