Join us in Costa Rica for a Biomimicry & Design Workshop

Now in its sixth year, this popular workshop is being offered twice in the Spring of 2011 on the following dates:

  • Sunday, March 13 to Sunday, March 20 (Fly in March 12, Fly out March 21)
  • Thursday, March 24 to Thursday, March 31 (Fly in March 23, Fly out April 1)

This workshop is designed for university students and professionals in various fields including architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, industrial design, the sciences, engineering, community development, city planning, and business. Up to 25 participants can enroll in one of these 7-day courses with three talented and fun instructors and guest lecturer, Dr. Dayna Baumeister, co-founder of the Biomimicry Guild.

Our Refund Policy:
PLEASE READ THIS REFUND POLICY. TO PROCEED WITH REGISTRATION YOU MUST CONFIRM BELOW THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO OUR REFUND POLICY. Your reservation will be canceled if full payment has not been received by February 11, 2011 or December 15, 2010 for the early-bird discount. For reservations made within 30 days of the departure date, full payment is required. A deposit may be placed to hold the reservation with the balance due 30 days prior to departure date. All cancellation notices must be received in writing and will become effective as of the date of the postmark.

Cancellations made within 30 days of departure will not be refunded. Cancellations requested between 31 and 45 days prior to departure, a refund less your deposit will be made. For cancellations made 46 - 60 days prior to departure a refund less 50% of your deposit will be made. For cancellations made more than 60 days prior to departure a refund less a $100 admin fee will be made.

Any airline tickets issued are subject to the carrier's refund policy. We will not be responsible for any refund for nonrefundable airline tickets or for any airline tickets purchased by the passenger directly from an airline or travel agent. Leaving a workshop in progress, for any reason whatsoever, will not result in a refund, and no refunds will be made for any unused portions of a workshop.

The sponsors reserve the right to accept, retain, or withdraw any person as a member of the program. In the event a participant is asked to withdraw because of behavior deemed detrimental to the group, no refund will be allowed.

Enrollment includes participation in the program: no refund will be made to the participant for any unused portion, except for items that are refundable to the sponsors.

We reserve the right to cancel any workshop because of inadequate enrollment that makes the trip economically infeasible to operate or because of good-faith concerns with respect to the safety, health, or welfare of the participants. If a workshop is canceled prior to departure, the Biomimicry Group will provide you with a full refund of monies paid to the Group. If we cancel the workshop in progress, you will receive a prorated refund based on the number of days not completed on the workshop.

Any refunds will be made in the same way and to the same source as the original payment. Fees paid by check will be refunded to the same account. Fees paid by credit card will be refunded to the same credit card. As the workshop fee is in USD the amount refunded will be in USD. The Biomimicry Group cannot be responsible for any fluctuations in exchange rates from time of purchase to the time of refund.

We cannot make exceptions to the refund policy for any reason including but not limited to illness, travel delays, emergencies, or weather.

Because of the financial consequences of cancellations, we strongly recommend that you obtain accident, baggage, and trip cancellation insurance through a travel agent. Travel insurance can help protect you against financial loss if you must cancel or interrupt your trip. It will reimburse you for cancellation under certain circumstances (medical reasons, family emergency, etc.). One company (not affiliated with the Biomimicry Group) offering these services is Travelguard (800-826-4919,

CHANGES IN ITINERARY: The sponsors reserve the right to alter any aspect of the program, to make cancellations, changes or substitutions in case of emergencies, or in the best interest of the participants, and to alter the price prior to departure in order to meet unexpected price changes. All prices and fares are quoted in U.S. dollars. The rates are based on current tariffs and are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. While we will do everything possible to maintain the listed prices, if it is necessary to levy a surcharge, we reserve the right to do so, and notification will be given at the time of final invoicing.
