The purpose of the Online Entrepreneurial Training Course is to provide guidance and support to individuals interested in starting or expanding a small business. The online course consists of reading materials and exercises designed to guide entrepreneurs through all aspects of starting and running a small business. It also includes a one-on-one discussion with an SBDC Advisor to discuss each participants' specific business project, whether in person or through email or phone contacts.
The course covers how to check credit reports and how to address any related problems; learning what goes into a business plan, what types of insurance are recommended as well as information on contract agreements, marketing and bookkeeping and many more relevant topics. Local professionals are featured in video segments within the course.
In the registration section you will be asked to give your date of birth. A few days before the course begins, you will receive an email from us with your User Name and Login information. Your date of birth will be your password.
The course consists of seven modules. You will have two weeks to review the material in each module and discuss it with the instructor and with other students. New modules will open up every other Monday at 10:00 a.m. You will be notified when the next module will be opening.
The course is sponsored by the Small Business Development Center in Watertown, NY, but will be conducted entirely online. If you live in the area and wish to pay by cash or check, contact the center at 315-782-9262. Registration deadline through this website is one week in advance.
