The 2nd Annual Furniture Design Summit “Tools, Techniques and Inspiration,” which will be hosted jointly by the SCAD furniture design program and the American Society of Furniture Designers at the SCAD Savannah campus May 11 and 12.

Day one will present opportunities for professionals to gain skills in digital design and fabrication from the expert SCAD faculty and technology staff and an opportunity for students to interact and learn from captains of industry. This first day will be highlighted with workshops, portfolio reviews and a joint student/industry panel.

Day two will feature a collection of speakers designed to inspire visitors’ creativity as well as their intellect. Presentations from the worlds of art, design, business and sustainability will leave participants with new tools techniques and inspiration. Features include lectures from branding guru Tom Hardy, sustainability expert Ursula Tischner, sculptor Andrew Scott as well as a celebration of SCAD's best and brightest students. Industry leaders will discuss the current and future state of furniture design in a panel discussion.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: To cancel a registration and request a refund, a written request (e-mail is acceptable) must be sent to Alice Eisner at or faxed to 912.525.5277 TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. Refund checks or credits will be issued four to six weeks after the conference. Refund requests received or postmarked thirty days prior to event start date will receive a full refund less a $30 handling fee. Refund requests received or postmarked two weeks prior to event start date will receive a refund equal to 50 percent of the appropriate registration fee. Refund requests received or postmarked up to two weeks prior to event start date will not be honored.
