The Small Business Development Center at Jefferson Community College is sponsoring the ninth annual conference for women in the north country entitled ?The Business of Women,? to be held at the Ramada in Watertown on Monday, December 5 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Women (and men) business owners and employees, and anyone interested in exploring the concepts of self-employment or career advancement are welcome to attend this half-day event. The Jefferson County Industrial Development Corporation and the New York Shirt Company are major sponsors of the conference. The keynote address will be delivered by retired Watertown city manager Mary Corriveau with a presentation titled ?The Privilege of Leadership." Other presentations include mini-workshops on accounting, legal issues, hobby businesses and social media. Registration includes breakfast and lunch, and attendees can shop all day at the Small Business Expo.
