Bike Safari
A workshop in travel photography, conducted frequently, that begins at the bike shop at North Beach. We will ride along Chicago's lakefront to some of the most iconic Chicago destinations, taking great photos along the way! We will see Lakefront Trail & Beaches, Millennium Park, Grant Park, Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, and North Avenue Beach.
First, our professional photographer will give you a 40-minute orientation on good photography technique: how to photograph people you know and people you don't know; how to photograph sculpture, monuments, historic places, cityscapes, churches, and how to make your building photographs architecturally correct. We will also help you understand your camera and explain what all those features on your camera do, especially the ones controlling F-stops, shutter speeds, white balance, and ISO.
At each point along the way, we will critique your photos as you are taking them, helping you to correct exposure, composition and white balance right on the spot, so that you can immediately see the effect of your own corrective measures. This hands-on training will give you invaluable photo techniques for your future travels. So, before you go on that big trip come see us first! Got a new camera and want to know how to use it? Help is right around the corner!
Three-hour safari only $119, meets rain or shine. (If you have your own bike, please let us know upon registration and you will be given a $20 refund at the safari) Bring your camera and no tripod. All skill levels invited, with any kind of camera, point and shoot or SLR.
