Night Safari

A workshop in night photography, conducted frequently, that begins at the Navy Pier information booth (by Bubba Gumps). Working in the glow of the Ferris Wheel, your guide will first give you a 40-minute orientation on good photography technique: what is the optimum time to shoot night shots, how to meter, why and how to use your tripod. The leader will also help you understand your camera and explain what all those features on your camera do, especially the ones controlling F-stops, shutter speeds, white balance, and ISO.

We will then use that information to photograph night scenes of Navy Pier and beautiful downtown Chicago.

At each point along the way, we will critique your photos as you are taking them, helping you to correct exposure, composition and white balance right on the spot, so that you can immediately see the effect of your own corrective measures. This hands-on training will give you invaluable photo techniques for your future night photography. So, before you go on that big trip come see us first! Got a new camera and want to know how to use it? Help is right around the corner! Meets rain or shine.

Bring your camera, lenses, and tripod. All skill levels invited, with any kind of camera, point and shoot or SLR.
