Sea Tel Technical Training
Leading technology in VSAT satellite communications and TV for commercial vessels, oil platforms, and yachts of all sizes. Sea Tel marine antennas keep you connected to the rest of the world. Attending an Authorized Sea Training Course is will enable a technician to competently install, operate, and maintain a technologically advanced piece of Marine Satellite Communications equipment. A Sea Tel Training course will equip a technician with the knowledge and skills to do the work more quickly, more efficiently, and to perform their jobs more intelligently. For persons new to Sea Tel or to the industry, an antenna can appear to be an extremely complex piece of equipment. In hardware alone, a typical Ku-Band transmit/receive based Above Decks Equipment (ADE) bill of materials consists of over 275 individual parts (including but not limited to: Drive Motors/Belts, Electronic enclosures/sensors, Coaxes/Wire Harnesses, machined parts, and misc mounting hardware). Let’s not forget the Antenna Control Unit (ACU) and its 47 independently adjustable system parameters and 4 main menus’ of operation (with 23 sub-menu’s). Add in the full suite of available diagnostic software(s), both proprietary and third party, and the expectation for an employee to intuitively perform the most productive tests and efficient procedures is no longer reasonable. With an average of 30-40 New Product Releases and Two General Software Releases a year, even the “experienced” technicians will have something to gain by attending a course.
